Methodology of UV-C light killing germs

In Zygienic, we utilizes Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) to disinfect your mobile devices. UVGI in our products uses UV light of wavelengths 200 – 280 (UV-C) to disrupt the DNA of microorganisms and destroy their nucleic acid, rendering them unable to perform vital cellular functions. UVGI is currently used in a variety of applications, such as food, air, and water purification.

Due to Earth's protective ozone layer, the presence of UV-C light at the surface level is weak, allowing germs and microorganisms to flourish. Hence, our products mimic an environment where UVC light is strong and making it inhospitable to microorganisms such as germs, viruses, molds and other pathogens.

Recently during the COVID period in 2020, Singapore has deployed out UV Disinfecting Robots that utilizes UVC to fight the virus.
